U.S. District Judge Theodore D. Chuang was the second judge to block the latest version of Trump’s travel ban on Wednesday, the first being Judge Derrick K. Watson from Hawaii on Tuesday.

The Washington Post reports, “Chuang blocked the administration only from enforcing the directive on those with a ‘bona fide relationship with a person or entity in the United States, such as family members or some type of professional or other engagement in the United States.”

Chuang ruled against the ban saying Trump’s own words and tweets during his campaign prove this directive is targeted at Muslims.

24 cases of the mumps have been confirmed at Syracuse University, while 27 additional illnesses are listed as probable mumps infections.

Syrause.com reports “the outbreak at SU began in August. Some of the students with confirmed cases of mumps are no longer contagious and have made a full recovery. SU is isolating students who have mumps to stop the spread of the disease on campus. Some are staying in hotels.”

In better news, a separate report on Syracuse.com says “Syracuse University is asking professors to extend deadlines, provide make-up tests and make other accommodations for students affected by the mumps outbreak.”

Boston College students stage walk out protest over racist incidents

“Hundreds of students at Boston College have walked out of their classes to protest recent instances of racism on campus, including two posters that were defaced to say ‘Black Lives don’t Matter,’ according to a report from the Associated Press.

BC Heights, the student newspaper at Boston College, reports:

“George Boateng, MCAS ’18, asked students about what kinds of things they would want graduates to say about BC, and shared his opinions about racism on campus.

‘It [racism] starts from the top,’ Boateng said. ‘BC has failed not only its black students, but its LGBT students, and white students also.’”
